Touring bikes, cruisers and the parts and paint that make them yours.
Harley-Davidson riders tend to keep their bikes for years, ride long distances and invest in them. That changes what matters on the policy more than the brand itself does.
Value and depreciation. Touring models and newer bikes carry significant value. If a newer bike is totaled, an actual cash value payout may be well below what it costs to replace. Ask about total loss replacement or agreed value options where available.
Custom parts and paint. Stage kits, exhaust, seats, bags, wheels, lighting, audio and custom paint can add thousands. Standard policies cover aftermarket parts only up to a custom parts and equipment limit. Set it to match what you've added. Insuring upgrades and gear.
Touring. Long trips make roadside assistance and trip interruption worth having. If you carry a passenger, look at guest passenger liability and medical payments.
Protection for the rider. Big bikes don't change the physics of a car turning across your lane. Carry uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage at the same limits as your liability.
Trike models and conversions are rated differently from two-wheelers. Tell us the exact model, and whether it's a factory trike or a conversion.
If you financed the bike, your lender requires collision and comprehensive. Ask about gap-style coverage on newer bikes with small down payments.
